Third project's a charm! After two successful projects with this growing family they decided we're in this together to make sure all design elements were considered for this ground up construction. With an open living and large kitchen all on one floor and spacious backyard with pool, all boxes were checked. When selecting the finishes durability and cleanability were key. By keeping a timeless foundation with a neutral palette in the base materials such as wood flooring, tile, cabinets & countertops it allowed bold pops of color and graphic textural wallpaper to shine. Designing around the client's existing classic mid century modern furniture collection was a designer's dream!

For the expanding AI-driven Ambyint, Amy Vonderau Interiors has designed a workplace with nods to mid-century modern style. The offices reside in Summer Street Studios, renovated from a historic paint-manufacturing warehouse. The mixture of advancing technology with MCM-inspired furniture from Kimball Office compliments the building’s historic architectural features. Thanks to a restricted material palette, Ambyint’s branding is subtle yet apparent throughout the space. The office features biophlic design elements with air purifying greenery. Various initiatives to build a collaborative work environment, using both raw construction materials as well as Kimball's new take on traditional cubical panels, ensures places for colleagues to gather. One feature of this space is the elimination of corporate dullness; there is a great deal of crossover between workstations, common areas and private offices, making leadership visible and accessible.

AV Interiors teamed up with Christine Ho Interiors for this masculine renovation. When approached by a home owner with the unfortunate story of fire damage. The initial conversations were to reconstruct the home back to it's original plan with finish upgrades but taking full advantage of making the best of the tragic events the design took a towards new light. By re-configuring the second floor by opening two spaces into one spacious open living area the natural light is able to flood into the central kitchen and formal dining space. Mindful details to the space plan allows for multiple functions formal living, formal dining, spacious kitchen with breakfast island, walk in pantry and even a game room with a pool table including a fireplace creating the ultimate entertainment space. One of the only items that survived the fire was an large scale Scrabble board which we used as inspiration when selecting the new finishes and fixtures.

This Spring Branch renovation is hard to believe, even after seeing before and after photos! By knocking out the wall that separated the front side of the house to the back it allowed for a light flooded open concept living space, a pretty big feat of engineering and design. By honoring the existing elements of the original house like the wood flooring the new finish palette was mindfully thought out with a few elements of surprise including a bathroom vanity fabricated by the client himself!

Houston’s Most Beautiful Homes 2021

One of the original developments in the Woodlands is the Panther Creek area. Built in 1985 this original kitchen had a formal dining, small kitchen & even smaller breakfast area, check out the before photos below. By opening up the kitchen, raising the ceilings this new design is not only aesthetically more modern but highly functional. All details were thought through and designed from a whole baking station where the breakfast room once was to easily accessible spice drawers cook top island now overlooking the living room. Every last inch was considered and used for either kitchen storage or displayed shelves for cook books.

This West University Place renovation project was set on the real estate market to sell when an unfortunate water accident occurred. The client took the opportunity to renovate the house which worked to their advantage being able to sell the home beyond the renovation costs.
